Chapters 13-15
In Chapter 14, Jonas is back on the hill with a sled but the hill is a lot steeper. As the sled moved foreword he grinned as it picked up speed. But something was wrong. The runners couldn't slice through the snow because it was too icy. Jonas picked a lot of speed. He went sideways and hit a bump and went flying through the air. He landed and was hit by his first wave of pain. It felt like a hatchet was stuck in his leg. When he came back he asked the giver for relief of pain but the giver said no because it was related to his training.
In Chapter 15, He went for his training and saw the giver was in much pain. The giver asked Jonas to take some of the pain. When Jonas put hiss hands on him he was in a field full of groaning men. A little boy next to him asked him for water as blood dripped from his mouth. After Jonas gave him water the boys head fell back and went motionless. Jonas looked around to find many men in the same state that the boy had had. He could hear the thud of cannons in the distance. When he came back, the giver told him,"I'm sorry."
